Blog Award

Finally got round to doing this. I was presented the Versatile and Stylish award by Dee and @ilola

I really appreciate this and I am sorry for not acknowledging all this while. Forgive me pls!

The Rules are as followings:
1. Thank the person who gave you the award and link back to them in your post.
2. Tell us 7 things about yourself.
3. Award 15 other bloggers.
4. Contact these bloggers and let them know that they have won.

I shall obey rule 1 and 2. Thank you Dee and @ilola!!!

Rule 3 and 4- hmm I can't think of 15 specific bloggers to give this award too so I shall award it to all bloggers who read this post. You are all stylish and versatile in your own way. :)

SEVEN THINGS ABOUT MYSELF

1) I hate going shopping. Unlike a lot of people that find it therapeutic I find it tiring and draining. I'll rather shop online. Yes its so bad I do even my grocery shopping online. And no I don't miss out on window shopping. I browse a store online, add the things I like to my shopping basket, checkout to see the cost and promptly close the page. I find that therapeutic!

2) I have a love/hate relationship with my/our car. When I know I have to drive somewhere I freak out and start mapping the routes in my head as I fear the road will eat me up or I'll miss my way. But once I get behind the wheel and start blasting my music I am totally fine and don't want the driving to end.

3) I dislike people encroaching in my personal space esp when sitting on the train/tube. Most men I sit beside are guilty of this-putting their leg in your space. Ewww! Maybe the seats are too small for them, who knows. For that reason if I had a choice, I'll rather sit beside a lady who is also trying to manage her space.

4) I have only fixed fake nails twice in my life- first time was for writefreak's wedding because I was her CBM and I thought ok "Aloted make an effort". Second time was for my wedding. On both occasions I got rid of the nails the following week. They looked beautiful but I found them to heavy to carry and couldn't get on with my regular activities. I hear ladies get used to it after some time but I don't think I want to get used to that.

5) I like playing sudoku on my phone but I am still on the EASY stage. Tried the MEDIUM stage once and got stuck. *Shameful*

6) Generally I relate well with people around me but I have consciously chosen to have very few close friends because it takes a lot of emotional energy to invest in friendships and its intricacies. Marriage on its own is demanding enuff. Don't get me wrong o I love my friends and being married but I know how much effort I would put in each relationship so I'll rather go quality than quantity.

7) I have had natural hair for over 2 years now and I am still learning about maintaining it and different styles to wear my hair.

Honest Scrap Award and other sturvs

I was given the Honest Scrap Award almost a month ago by YakeenNaijaBabe. Thanks babe, I really appreciate it. So the deal is I have to share ten honest things about myself now.

  1. I can sleep for Nigeria, Africa and the United Kingdom all together. I would be a millionaire by now if I got paid for the number of hours I CAN sleep in a day.
  2. First time I permed my hair was after secondary school. Sometime last year, I realised perming/putting chemicals in my hair was not for me, so i did the big chop and now I proudly wear my natural hair. Still looking for more natural style ideas. Anyone?
  3. As a child & teenager i was an extrovert; quiet outspoken but now I seem to be more in touch with my inner man and do not care so much for outings and parties. Old age?
  4. I am good with organising meetings in the office but rubbish with organising space. Thank God for Baale in my life
  5. I didn't throw my bouquet at my wedding reception, I brought it back home (UK)! My logic then was it was too beautiful and besides i paid for it. LOL. Now it is "panti" (junk) at home.
  6. I only use hot water to bath. Cold water is a no no.
  7. I love the idea of food more than food itself. Explanation- I like cooking but when it comes to eating the food after cooking it, I sometimes get bored with it while other people are enjoying the food.
  8. The only form of exercise I do is walking. Now that I drive, it is harder to do my only exercise. Sigh
  9. I wore braces for 2 years as an adult
  10. I love Jesus :)
I am suppose to pass this on to 7 people but men I no fit. Too many bloggers I love. Pardon moi.

Naija Blogger Award

I just found out today that I was nominated for best religious blog. I am honoured. Thank you o. Ok so the competition is a bit daunting- Jaycee & Rita. That means I will beg you to vote for me. Those two were kuku nominated for other awards, so here's the deal, vote for them in the others and just leave this reglious one for me. Fair enuff? LOL. OK in addition to begging, I will pray that the Lord will minister to your hearts to vote for Aloted. God bless you as you vote :o)

Update on my Dad
Thanks again for all your support and prayer. He is getting better now. Still in the hospital but should be discharged very soon

Have a blessed week and happy new month.

Ten things Tuesday (07) + Love your Blog Award

Hello Beautiful people. I hope this meets you well. It's another awesome Tuesday and I am here to give thanks but this time for some special bloggers! Actually let me start from the beginning.

Last week, I was awarded the "I Love your blog" award by YankeeNaijaBabe and Lady A. I was really tripped and actually blessed to know that such wonderful ladies love my blog.

YNB- I must confess that I love the work you are doing with your new blog...it's full of all sorts that can benefit anyone who cares to read. I have picked up a few fashion tips from your blog. Thanks

Lady A- Reading about your story and how you are joyful even in the midst of heartaches, everyday life and caring for your kids amazes me. Your love for God is evident in all your blogs. I am so happy that you and your hubby are back together and making things work. You remind me that Love conquers all.

So before I pass on the award, here are the rules:

1.The nominated is allowed to put the picture on their blogs.
2.Link to the person who awarded you.
3.Nominate seven other people and link to them.
4.Leave a message on those people's blog to make them aware that they're nominated.

I know the rules says pass it on to 7 bloggers but as I am incorporating this with my Ten things Tuesday am sure y'all won't mind me passing it to 10 remarkable bloggers. So here's me passing on the award and giving thanks for 10 blogs I love. Smart move, right??

Oh, yah, at this point I must mention that to everyone I gave out the Honest Award and to everyone that I read your blogs, please know that I 100% love your blogs. Blogville is just the place to be and I am humbled to be part of this wonderful family. However, I will like to recgonise the following as their blogs have impacted my life for the better (if you didn't know, now u are about to know...lol).

In no particular order, I hereby pass on the award to:

  • Xbox Wife- The orginator of Ten things Tuesday. Am sure glad to have stumbled on your blog cuz doing ten things tuesday has taught me to be more thankful. For this reason I love your blog :)

  • Walking- This lady has all sorts of tips for everyday life on her blog. I have picked up a few tips on money management, food timetable etc. You just have to check her out.

  • Seye- There's just something remarkable about you and your posts. For a guy, I think you are in touch with your emotions even though you try to appear hardcore to us ;-)

  • Simeone Omobaba- Man of God! LOL...Your blog inspires me. That's all I am going to say.

  • ShubbyDoo- Just the title of your blog alone trips me. I remember once you mentioned on someone's blog that it actually keeps u in check. This reminds me of me sometimes when i feel like ranting but my blog title keeps me in line. Inspiring blog

  • Abbie- I love reading about you, your son, your minor "escapades". LOL. Thanks for always taking time out to respond to my comments via email. I appreciate it

  • 30+ - I simply love your blog because you ALWAYS acknowledge God at the beginning of each post. I find that totally awe-inspiring.

  • Tyger- You this girl, you have not been updating frequently but when you do you have something to say that puts a smile on my face.

  • Rethots- I love your unique way of writing. I have this image of you in my head. Do you look like a geek? lol. Sometimes, am not sure what you are going on about in your posts (slow me abi) but I love the fact that you take time out to send me an email to explain what's going on.

  • Abuja Maiden - I only recently stumbled on this blog and I fell in love with it right away. It's rare to find people who not only travel the "narrow path" but they are not ashamed to talk about it. Not sure how old you are but you remind me of me when I was younger, single and dealing with temptations of a single life. The Lord will surely reward your decision ;)

Sorry I have to acknowledge one more special person o, no vex. My ore timo timo (my close friend).

Writefreak: Ore, sometimes I think you blog is all about you and your hubby. Hubby this, hubby that. LOL. That is what I love about your blog :) Too much love...never too much jare! Thanks for being my friend in real life and in blogville. ;)

So who or what are you thankful for??
